About SQLWATCH.

SQLWATCH was created by Marcin Gminski as an Open Source monitoring framework out of a necessity to help businesses monitor their entire SQL Server estate at a low cost.
Marcin was working as a DBA and an independent SQL Server consultant and noticed that most businesses that were having problems with SQL Servers did not have any monitoring, making it challenging to address current or past issues. Furthermore, commercial monitoring solutions were often inefficient in monitoring large environments or not flexible enough to help everyone. To help with this, Marcin wrote data collector scripts for his customers to provide more visibility into their SQL Servers, provide more proactive support, and fix issues before they start causing problems.
In 2016, Marcin founded Sargable, a small company based in York, UK, specialising in SQL Server. The company relied on the original data collector scripts and expanded them into the monitoring framework.
In 2018, Marcin released the SQL Server monitoring framework to the public as an open source project called SQLWATCH.
In 2020, based on the feedback from their clients, the company started building a fully hosted and managed version of SQLWATCH which is now available as a stand-alone product and used internally by Sargable to monitor their customers’ environments.
